Feed the Hungry: Our Feed the Hungry program continues on Friday, November 21 at the Chinook LRT Station. Donations of food (packaged cookies, drinks, granola bars, fruit) and clothing (blankets, socks, mittens, footwear, coats, sweaters, hats, scarves) are accepted throughout the month on Sunday mornings and during office hours on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. We are low on blankets at this time. A sign up sheet is located in the Place of Welcome for those who wish to volunteer to bring hot food and/or serve. Volunteers meet at the church by 3:30. Please contact Judy for details.
In Case of Emergency:: A wheelchair is stored in the main counters office if there is ever an emergency. LCOS has an AED and a First Aid Kit in the Fellowship Hall. Please speak to Judy if you have a current First Aid Certificate, or if you would be interested in taking the training. If we have enough interest arrangements may be made to coordinate a course for LCOS participants.
Noahvember: Each fall we remember the many animals in shelters waiting for their forever homes. To help make their lives, and the people’s who care for them, a little easier LCOS collects donations of pet food, toys, old towels, blankets, etc. and delivers them to the Calgary Humane Society at the end of the month. If this is something close to your heart a corral is set up in the Place of Welcome for donations.
Veterans Food Drive: Each year at this time LCOS accepts food and clothing for our local veterans in need. A collection box is available in the Place of Welcome for donations.
