The Acadia Food Pantry needs volunteers!

The Acadia Food Pantry provides free food for anyone in need; it focuses in Acadia and surrounding communities but doesn’t turn anyone away. It operates the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of the month during covid times; 12:00 noon  – 12:45 pm. 

No registration necessary;  just come & bring your own bag.

Location: McDougall United Church, 8516 Athabasca Street SE.

Organized by a community group through the Acadia Networking & Action Group (ANAG)

 

Volunteer Activities:

  • Picking up food from the SPINZ program on the day of the pantry.  Need a vehicle and ability to pick up boxes.
  • Sorting food the day before the pantry into hampers. This takes approximately 2 hours.
  • Sorting food, assisting with distribution of food on the day of the pantry, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Hand sanitizing, gloves, and face masks are provided.  Social distancing is expected during all activities.
