Join us this week we continue our Lenten series on the Luther's Small Catechism with a focus on "The Lord's Supper".

Something to think about this week on Serving:

“But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26b-28, ESV)

  • Compassion — Seek to understand before being understood.  (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
  • Prayer—The world needs it.  (1 Timothy 2:1-2)
  • Generosity — The more generous you sow, the more you will reap.  (2 Corinthians 9:6)
  • Purpose—You are still breathing.  God’s got you here for a reason.  (Ephesians 2:10)
  • Compliments—No one ever regretted complimenting rather than criticizing (Colossians 3:16)
  • Gifts & Abilities—Don’t withhold your blessing from others. (Ephesians 3:11-14)

Lenten Project Update:  The Brenda Strafford Society for the Prevention of Domestic Violence is a second-stage shelter for women and their children who have fled domestic violence.  LCOS is once again pleased to support the Brenda Strafford Centre in two ways:

  • Caring bags of necessities & gifts including towels.
  • New pillow for each resident.

All items need to be back by Easter on April 16, 2017.  Total so far:  41 pillows & 16 Lenten bags.
