Good afternoon Young Explorer parents!

We’re are now officially in the second half of our programming year! We have some great events lined up, and some amazing opportunities.

To highlight a few important dates;

Sunday January 29th 10am – Special class led by the youth!   11am – Service – 11:45am – Annual General Meeting (babysitting will be provided)

Sunday February 19th – No Young Explorer Classes Sunday

March 5th 10am – Family Lenten Craft

In May, we are also going to have an extremely special end of the year celebration, so keep watch for more information coming about that shortly.

Also near the end of the year we are going to be participating in a “creation is not for sale” event. Again, more information will be coming out soon about this event, but in the meantime, we are raising funds to help with the Reformation Challenge, and specifically planting trees. For more information about the challenge, check out this website; http://www.elcic.ca/ReformationChallenge/Trees.cfm. Children can bring in any loose change that you have lying around the house on Sunday morning to fundraise to help the Lutheran Church in Canada reach their goal!

Finally, a neat contest from our local Christian radio station, Shine 88.9FM! Each month there’s a different coloring contest for kids, with some awesome prizes! January’s contest is up now; http://www.cjsi.ca/contests/colour-2-win/!

Have a great week!
