Guiding Mission - Local Outreach
This January the Mission Group will be organizing a set of conversation events about one of the most important areas of our church – Youth.
Whether you’re a current member of the youth, someone who’s moved on to a college and/or career path, a parent, or just an interested member of the congregation, we’ve got questions about what we can do to make LCOS a stronger environment for youth and their families. We did similar conversation groups back in August of 2015.
Each Conversation Group will take about one hour of time, will have a group leader to keep the flow of conversation organized, and the ideas will be recorded so that your thoughts aren’t lost in the moment. There will also be food and refreshments provided as a thank you for your participation.
If you’d like more information about these events or if you’d like to volunteer to help set up, please contact Katharine Heimbigner-Tenor, Joe Schultz, or Darren Tenor.
This small group is always looking for additional members who are interested in working in the community on various projects. In the past we have worked on a Wee Reads program at Acadia School, the Art and Garden mural project and are presently working closely with Metro Alliance for the Common Good (Calgary based social justice program). Our members are interested in senior, children and youth concerns in the local community.
There is no need to commit to a particular project. This group is interested in developing and supporting leaders in their personal areas of interest.
